Editing

  • One of the problems which occurred during today's session was the realisation of not using white balance, causing awful lighting in the shot including 'Jimmy' walking down the college corridor.
  • This lead us to delete to the shot, and to delete the shot after (opening the door, CU of the door handle)
  • In conclusion, this taught me to remember and take white balance into consideration.
  • The original idea of the ending was to show 'Jimmy' placing his arm over his eyes (creating an occurring structure when compared to the beginning) but we chose to remove the shot as it didn't fit the previous scene.
  • We imported the monologue, split and arranged them in the sections with the best fit. We had some problems with sound at first because some voice clips sounded louder then others but we figured out to change the volume on the software.
  • As the clips are muted, and the only non diagetic sound is the monologue, we wanted the music to be on the lines of something soft, such as violin/piano, but with the sad tone.
  • We came across 2 samples which were piano and put them together, we may decide to just repeat the two samples throughout the entire movie.
