Lessons learnt from the foundation portfolio

One of the many attributes applied towards the portfolio which I came away gaining more knowledge of is how planning was crucial, this would include
  • What to shoot
  • Where to shoot
  • How to shoot
Fitting the filming into a daily plan which would include many of the group members as possible.
Much of the time it was difficult to plan a day of shooting with Danny & Gareth, so we all had to be aware of what we wanted to achieve individually, just in case we had to film on our own. It was important to be aware and have a variety of

  • Transitions,
  • Type of shots
  • Type of angles
As we shot outside majority of the time during filming, we had to take lighting into consideration, trying not to forget how key it was to keep the a limit to the darkness we needed for an eery atmosphere with the shots in the store cupboard.

As the shots didn't come out as planned, this didn't leave us much time for a decent amount of work on editing and the variety wasn't enough as it didn't create continuity and we went wrong on match on action in one area with the lead actress.
